Tank Removal

There will be no starting this beast for a while. I took off the tank to drain it today. What came out was closer to lacquer than gas. It is 10 years old after all. When I removed the petcock assembly, all I got was the petcock. Everything else was missing. And a LOT of rust inside. I'm sure glad my goal was to get it started by the end of summer and not anytime sooner.

Playin with the oil.

Finally got around to draining the oil. When I removed the oil filter housing, I found the spring and washer that were supposed to be there missing. I also had to literally cut the crush washer off the drain bolt. I was able to find all the parts I need at this site. http://www.bikebandit.com/. I love this site. They have original parts drawings and numbers from the manufacturer.

This damn thing holds as much oil as my Wing does.

Found a forum

Already found a forum exclusively for CB750's. http://honda-cb750-s.456789.n3.nabble.com/
Go figure, huh! Isn't the internet a wonderful thing. I found what I think is the correct manual for what I am trying to do. Now I am off to become a member of the forum and pick their brains. Later!

Just got it

So the adventure begins. Yesterday I brought home this motorcycle.
I have absolutely no idea what I am doing but figured "what the hell" Worst case, I am out 400 bucks. Best case I have a cool motorcycle to ride. Today I spent time researching places to get parts and manuals for old bikes, Cant really do much without a book so I am going to wait for them to arrive in the mail. Pay no attention to the date. We changed the batteries in the camera and forgot to reset it.
